Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession with a scientific base. At Stow Physio at Bourton we are all expert in biomechanical assessment, and so are able to look at how your joints move, or your body works and decide what the underlying cause of your problem may be. We are then able to use various treatment techniques to correct the problem, and then help you with home exercises to prevent recurrence.
By finding the root cause of a problem, rather than simply treating the symptoms we aim to give you a long term solution that means you can continue your activities without the need for ongoing treatment.
Assessment involves watching how you move and then feeling the joints, muscles and tendons in the area for stiffness or pain.
If we feel that you problem is one that physiotherapy cannot help we will tell you, and then help you to find a solution elsewhere, either by onward referral for further tests or scans, or advice and referral to a suitable consultant or fellow health professional.

- Joint mobilisation and manipulation
