Eleanor joined our team earlier this year, enabling us to offer physiotherapy services for a wide range of neurological conditions. Eleanor completed her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University in 1998. After working generically in the NHS as a junior and senior physiotherapist, she decided to specialise in neurology in 2002.
Initially working with MS, Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions, in late 2003 she began to specialise in acquired and traumatic brain injury working for the Gloucestershire Brain Injury Team as their clinical specialist. More recently she has gained a special interest in vestibular dysfunction (dizziness) particularly in patients with altered neurology. Eleanor has completed several modules of an MSc in neurological rehabilitation.
Eleanor has experience of working in both in-patient, out-patient and community settings and so can alter her treatment style between normal movement (Bobath), motor relearning approaches and more functional based rehabilitation in the environment most suitable to her patient.
Eleanor is also a qualified veterinary physiotherapist seeing a variety of small and large animals. She has two horses of her own and in her spare time enjoys riding and the outdoors.
